Our lady of the month is Julie Gichuru, a mother, an entrepreneur, a lawyer, an activist and a journalist who hails from Kenya.

A native of Kenya, Julie Giruchu started her career as a Talk Show host for NTV Kenya where she presented On the Spot, one of Kenya’s most viewed. She later joined Royal Medias to host the Sunday Live Show,    a weekly prime time program that brings together top reporters and analysts for complete coverage of the top stories and news of the week ( for those living in Kenya, catch her every Sunday at 9pm!).

In 2008, Julie Giruchu received the Martin Luther King Salute to Greatness award (making her the first African woman to bring home the prize.) for advocating non violence following the Kenyan elections that happened the same year.

Julie is also a member of the Africa Leadership Initiative and well as a member of the Young Global Leader under the World Economic Forum. She also raises money that goes to the Somalis refugees camps in Kenya.

Aside from holding all these titles, Ms Giruchu is the accomplished mother of four, whom she had with her husband, Mr. Anthony Gichuru.

We are proud to introduce you to Julie Giruchu as our first Lady of the month. She is an inspiration, not only for Kenyan women but for all of us.

Medias: TEDxNairobi, Julie Gichuru talks about her vision for Kenya and Africa as a whole.
